About Ardant

Ardant, also known as Gordon Chiu, is a computer engineering student who has almost completed his final year at the University of Waterloo. He obviously has much too much spare time on his hands, especially for a university engineering student. When not making useless webpages about himself, he spends his time working on his talker, as well as updating the ardant.net and hyperion project webpages.

He has been programming for 7 years, and is experienced with C/C++/Java programming for a Linux environment, as well as UNIX Administration. Besides working on his talker and webpages, all served off the ardant.net quasi-server, some recent and interesting job experiences used to be listed here, but, after six workterms, they are too numerous.

Ardant is currently running a small company, Dune Internet, LLC, in his (nearly non-existant) spare time. Dune Internet, LLC provides premium Linux-based web, talker, and MUD hosting services. This makes Ardant's spare time even more non-existant than before.

How do you know Ardant? You might know him through Shad Valley Calgary 2000, or you may have attended UTS. You might even be a Waterloo student, or just a random friend or family member. Anyway, you're here now.

Most of this webpage was designed at 2 in the morning on some Sunday in October of 2000. The pages are hosted off of the ardant.net quasi-server, a 486 sitting somewhere in the nether-regions of Toronto. The colour scheme and original CSS of this webpage are care of the original Asthenosphere Project, as designed by myself and Qing. Qing would like me to confess to my stealing of her nice css. Done.

The webpages use Apache's SSI and mod_perl, and were mostly written by Ardant in the wee hours.
